4 stinkin' months old!

Remember this?

Can you believe how much has changed in the last 4 months?!

Today was a BIG day. We went to Julia's 4 month Doctor's appointment and she is doing so great! She weighs 11 pounds and 4 ounces and is 24 inches long. Kind of a shorty but I guess I should have expected that. She was a real trooper about her nasty shots, though. The nurse was so quick and she let Julia have her bottle while she stuck her. Julia was still pretty mad at her, though.
She's a little drugged out here from the Tylenol we gave her for her shots but still precious.
She must have been restored by her long afternoon nap because she also rolled over from her back to her stomach today! This is the first time she has rolled that way and she was so excited that she rolled onto her back and did it all over again! Just so I'd know it wasn't a mistake.
Nick isn't getting too excited because he says she might have been using performance-enhancing drugs (I seriously don't think Tylenol counts, but whatever) In my book, she rolled.

Another new and exciting development at our house is the addition of the exersaucer (Thank you Ellen!) It may look like she's just sitting there but in reality she is exersaucing. It's so cute to see her playing with all the stuff on her new desk. She really loves it too. She gets very focused on completing all her tasks and only takes breaks to suck on her thumb or a toy...
Which brings me to her other new FAVORITE thing--Sophie the Giraffe! This was a gift from her Uncle Remi's family (Phillipe, Annie, Chloe and Florian) who live in France. So it's a cool french toy. And she really loves it. Her eyes light up when she sees it and she could spend hours chewing on poor Sophie's ears and nose. Thank you, Dingrevilles!!

Another Cousin Post

Okay, I know Becky just did one of these but I really have been planning this post for quite awhile so I'm doing it anyway. We have just been having a lot of cousin time recently.
We spent a few days with Cousin Ellen in the last few weeks: shopping, hitting the pool, visiting Nana. Stuff like that. Such fun times. Ellen really is as sweet a cousin as her mother says. She always smiles at Julia and in that first picture she had just finished rocking Julia's seat back and forth. We love Ellen so much.
Then last weekend, my parents, my sister Steph, and Julia's cousin Camille came to visit while Nick was out of town. Julia loves this cousin too. It was so fun to see them stare and smile at each other.
The cousins also had some good times with the grandparents.
Other than all that cousin stuff we've been doing very well. Julia is getting to be such a big girl! I realized one day not too long ago that she is no longer a newborn. She is holding her head up so well and she's so much more aware of everything around her. It is so neat to learn more about her personality, too. She is such an observer. She will just sit back and watch and listen, especially when she is in a new place. When she's comfortable she will talk your head off but it just takes her a little while. I think she's a little like her mama.
Julia also recently conquered the swaddle! She no longer needs it to fall asleep and in the process has learned to suck her thumb, which is so cute. I will try to get a picture of that for the next post.
In the meantime, thanks for reading and keep in touch!
