It's so hard to keep up with everything that's been going on in our lives on this blog. I don't want every detail recorded but I would like to get the big stuff because I know how much I will love looking back on it later and because inquiring minds and out of town relatives want to know. So I end up with these large and infrequent posts that are full of random but good stuff (often forgetting important things like the awesome deck Nick worked so hard to get finished). Bulk blogging as Annie calls it. It feels a little disorganized but it's practical.
So anyway, here is the latest news, in no particular order...
This weekend Julia met her Uncle Andrew and Aunt Emily for the first time. They live in Virginia Beach and came for a visit so we all got together for a big family dinner.
Here she is meeting their puppy Romeo...just minutes before she dissolved into tears. She seems to be scared of most dogs that aren't Jack.
Finally got some good pictures with her G-pa and Memoe. She is with them so much, I just never remember to pull out the camera.
I love this picture. She was smiling up at Tim and Ellen caught her off-guard.
This was going to be an awesome picture before G-pa ran to get the door. It's hard to slow this guy down.
Meeting our friend Porky for the first time. She looks pretty tiny here. :)

Look at this sweet picture. Never noticed how much Ellen looks like her Aunt Whitney.
And, at the end of the night, when things are getting a little crazy and maybe you're a little fussy, Memoe's lap is a great place to be.

Okay, onto the next subject:
Our new deck!
I love this! Nick really did an awesome job on it! Those mums are still waiting to be planted because it has been raining during naptime for the last few days. Nick is also going to do a couple more things like move the steps. But it's pretty much done. It's definitely made our backyard a lot more fun. I know I said I would also update about the garden but there's actually not a lot of good news to share about it. Let's just say this wasn't really our year for produce. But we did learn a lot and next year it's going to be awesome!
And, finally, let's end with some sweet potato goodness.

that deck is awesome! love the picture of julia and porky! she does look so tiny. great family pictures and a good update. it did not feel disorganized at all, of course nothing you do is disorganized. it always comes out beautifully!
That deck is awesome. I love the planter boxes.. did Nick make those too? They are really cute.. I could use some.. if he ever has nothing else to do! ha! As if!
Julia may look so small in the picture the Porky, because Porky is a big dude! ha! Just kidding.. she is just a baby.. and she is suppose to be small. = )
I love all the updates and the bluk blogging (I love that Annie came up with that term, cause it is just perfect) so don't ever worry about doing it.. it's perfect for people like me who are so far away!
Ok, first of all, this was the most organized bulk blog i've ever read. and second of all, your girl is precious and so so happy. becky told me she smiled all the time and is so happy. and third, your house looks like it came out of a magazine. it looks so great with that amazing deck, that really made it all come together so well. i loved it before but now it just is so cohesive. the planters and the seats are so cool too, i love how they are incorporated into it.
ok. lastly. i agree with courtney, don't ever feel bad about having to cram it all in. we will be thankful we hit the highlights one day.
can't wait to hold your sweet baby a lot.
She is such a tiny little thing!
Your deck is awesome.
So I finally had a minute to sit down and try and catch up on what I've missed in the blog world, so actually, your "bulk blog" was perfect for me. Your deck is amazing -- good job Nick! And as always, Julia is adorable!
Glad you got good pictures of family dinner, I need to get copies from you sometime.
Love the deck! Oh Nick..so wonderful:) in case I haven't told him today:)
Love you little Julia!
oh and I like you too Niki, and Jack...welp I guess that covers it
That little girl is getting so big! I can't believe the picture where she's smiling up at Tim. She does that?! I'm just ate up with envy at all Nick's stinkin' relatives that get to see you (her) all the time.
Camille is not crazy about non-Will dogs either. C'est normal.
I am, after all, glad to see some pics of that deck. I could look at your house all day. Only 3 weeks to go!
Niki thanks for sharing pictures. I hear a lot about the grandbabies from Mimi, but i just loving seeing their precious faces first hand. She is adorable. What a great husband making such a nice deck for the family to enjoy. Julia just keeps getting cuter every time I see her. Can't wait to see pics from the beach.
I LIVE for any blogging that you do! Thank you for taking the time to journal y'all's life and sharing it. Can't wait to see y'all...at the BEACH!
Niki your deck looks awesome and I know Julia looks tiny in that picture but she looks so grown up to me because I have not seen her in so long. Hope to see you guys soon. Oh and Beckett loves his sweet taters too :)
