We just got back (well, last friday) from a wonderful trip to Edisto Island with my whole family. I really can't explain how amazing it was to go to the beach and actually go to the beach. It's been so long! Last summer we pretty much watched the waves from inside because there were just too many naps and feedings to worry about. Not this year! Julia spent just about every waking moment at the pool, on the beach outside or asking someone to take her there. She loved it! I won't say it was the most relaxing vacation we've taken (and certainly not for her Pops and Mimi who ended up being her primary mode of transportation "out") but it was SO much fun. Here are a ton of pictures.

Glad you had such a good time at the beach! So glad julia was able to enjoy it too! I love seeing how much she is enjoying her summer! That picture of her drinking out of the straw, her eyes are like POW! such a pretty girl!
Tell me more tell me more! We have so many awesome memories from that week. You and Jami both have some photos that I didn't copy, so looking at your posts is letting me live the trip all over again. Especially that sweet huggy picture of the two girls, and the hilarious one where they're fighting over Mimi, the water bottle, and I'm sure the fake cell phone all at the same time. What a great trip!

What a fun week at the beach... it's so great to see you via blog... and Julia is just a precious as ever! I can't get over her big blue eyes! The trip looks so nice and I think your beach set up is amazing! Helps keep that hot sun off those precious babies!

Thanks for all the memories! It's really hard to grasp just how blessed we are to be able to share this special time together as a family. You girls will never know (this side of "parent & grandparenthood" what a gift you give Dad & I when you share your time with us. Wow! Fun, fun, fun! Glad we've already nailed down next year's house!
Niki, Thanks for allowing us to relive the trip through your eyes. The memories seem to get sharper, and they are great memories. Julia is so much fun to be around, you and Nick are quite nice also. Thanks for taking a week to revisit old Edisto memories and create even better new ones.
