Almost 37 weeks and time for a little update...

Okay, I have been putting off this post because stuff keeps building up for me to tell and there's just no way I am going to be able to cover everything. But I will try to summarize. If you've already heard all this, just bear with me.

The past 3 weeks have been very busy around here. First of all, my mom and sisters threw a beautiful shower for me in Marietta. It was wonderful to see my family and so many good, old friends. Julia got the sweetest gifts, too! She really has no idea how lucky she is to have so many people wanting to celebrate her. We are so thankful for all of you and can't wait for her to meet you.
Here are some pictures:

We celebrated Nick's birthday the next day. It was really fun. He had a carrot cake birthday cake (that I forgot to take a picture of but it was really good) and he got a new grill that has already provided hours of fun and a couple of delicious meals.

That night I started having contractions that were more intense and frequent than I had before. When I went to see my doctor the next day, she told me to stay off my feet for a week or two to make sure Julia didn't show up earlier than she should. That was followed by 10 days of couch time. Now, couch time might sound great to some people, and it was definitely fun at first. But by the end of it, I was going crazy! I have a hard enough time sitting still when there's not a MILLION things to do to get ready for a baby. Julia's nursery was full of bags, boxes, and piles of clothes. But, the good news is I have some very good friends and family to take care of me. Nick came home from work everyday and made my lunch for me, did our laundry, cleaned the house and generally made sure I was sitting down all the time. Sunday, Becky, BellaRose and Ellen came over and helped me unpack, sort and wash all of Julia's shower presents. Maureen made us some really good meals so I didn't have to cook. My mom and dad came in town and went to the grocery store, cooked, cleaned, and just helped me relax. So, the days went by alot faster than they could have and I am so thankful for all the help we got.
When I went back to the doctor, she said I was close enough to full term and it was time for me to get off the couch and stop ordering Nick around. So, I have been very busy! Here are some pictures of Julia's nursery. There is still alot to do, but it is coming along. I love this room! It is really becoming my favorite place in the house.

We went back to the doctor today and found out that I am a little over a centimeter dilated and Julia is dropping lower than she was. So, she is making some good progress...We will just keep waiting and praying that she will get here safe and sound. Here are some pictures of my belly's latest progress.

Oh my goodness! I LOVED your latest belly pictures! I can't imagine you having to be on the couch for 10 days. Honestly, I think that's your nightmare. So glad you had so many good people around you to help you out. The nursery is beautiful! I can't wait to start making ours! I can't believe Julia will be here in a few weeks! I'll be thinking and praying for you guys. Happy Birthday Nick!
