First of all, I FINALLY got a picture of this little girl smiling! She has been doing it for a couple of weeks but up until now, she hasn't seemed to think the camera is all that funny. Isn't this such a sweet little grin? She is so funny about that tongue!

Also, she got to meet Courtney and had a great time with her. She thinks Courtney is very funny and interesting. And almost as cool as her mom (me, not Ms. Stillwell--who is also very cool.) Anyway, it was lots of fun. We met up at the dripolator and walked around Black Mountain.
We had a great time hanging out on the new deck today while Nick worked on building the planters. Julia really loves to be outside. Look at this sweet setup. I am hoping she continues to enjoy it throughout the summer. We may have to put a fan out there.
Later, we got a surprise visit from her Grammy. You can't tell from this picture but she had Julia smiling almost as soon as she walked in the door.
And finally--and this is a big one--She took a little nap in her crib. I didn't get a picture of this because there was no way I was walking in there while she was asleep. But she did it! This is big because she has mostly been sleeping in her carseat or her bjorn or on us. So, maybe we're a bit closer to getting her to sleep in her own room at night too...Actually, I don't know if I'm ready for that yet! I might need to cry it out a few nights when that happens.

So glad Courtney got to meet her! Julia looks so different every time you post, I forget how fast they grow and change, savor every minute but don't worry because they only seem to get cuter and more fun!

Hi Swann's, what a happy baby!! Can't wait to see you guys at the wedding. Also looking forward to lounging on the new deck with Julia. Are you keeping count of the number of birds that drop dead on the spot after seeing that Owl? Love ya, Pops
