So, I decided to join in on Courtney's blog game.
I'm usually pretty lame when it comes to following through on stuff like this but I am sitting here with a sleeping baby, a little extra time and actually quite a few new things to talk about.
Here goes...
5 new favorite things
1. We have a vegetable garden! This is something Nick and I have wanted to do for awhile but just didn't have the space or the time. This year--with all our free time--we actually did it. I say we but I think you, Reader, know that I mean Nick. We started over 100 plants from seed and as much as we loved and cared for them, only about 10 of them made it. I think we got a little sidetracked with our other projects (growing the baby.) So, we planted our 10 seedlings, bought a whole bunch of other plants, a sprinkler and a scary bobble-head owl with glowing eyes. We are on our way. I'll let you know how it goes.
We call him Jacob and he's the reason I'm scared to go in the backyard at night.
2. Our soon-to-be larger porch. Yet another project that I can't believe there is time for is our back porch. Nick started this weekend and it is coming right along. I am so excited about this because the grill takes up almost the entire porch right now. This will make it more than twice as big and it will have benches and planters on it too. I have big plans for hanging out on this back porch once it is done. Feel free to come join me.
3. My MacBook. I love it.
4. Minute Maid Pomegranate Blueberry Juice. SO good.
5. Surely you knew she would have to make the list...
This might be cheating but I feel like I need to include at least some of Julia's favorite things. These are the guys she talks to every morning for about 10 minutes until she's ready for another nap. She thinks they are so cool.

Your garden looks great, of course you'll ship some of that freshness to NY when it comes up. Man, I can't believe your deck, he did all that in one weekend?! Also I love the picture of Julia and her "friends", those chubby cheeks! She starts to look like her Mamma's baby pictures after all!
I think Julia would make my top 5 too.

Admit Niki you love blog games! You are such a blog game person, I always knew you had it in you, like your top five, and you lost influenced name of the creepy owl. I would like to benefit from that garden! we could have salad bar day and take bowls outside and pick our salads and go eat them on your porch! it'll be like ingles without the crackers

Aw, I love your list. Isn't it great to have a man who will do the majority of the gardening? and build a sweet deck! I love your house! It is very cool.
I think I need to see Julia soon I have come back and looked at your pictures on here of her several times...would you please tell her to stop growing!
